Smoking pot is pretty common among people today. It has grown in popularity with all types of people from all different backgrounds. Although it is considered a âsoftâ drug it does come with it’s own dangers. As many people know when you do pot you inhale it and sometimes begin to suffer from memory loss. There are different effects on different people but these two are the most common.
Inhaling pot smoke does damage your lungs just the way a cigarette would. Although the damage is not as sever as cigarette smoke it does cause damage none the less. Your respiratory system begins to suffer when you smoke pot regularly. If you smoke pot regularly you know that running will take it out of you and catching your breath begins to become a struggle. Along with the breathing problems that marijuana causes you also increase your chances of lung cancer when you smoke pot. When deciding to stop smoking weed this is great to keep in mind. Ask your self do you really want to gamble with your life any longer.
Smoking pot also causes short term memory loss. The THC that marijuana contains damages the part of your brain that is responsible for memory. It is also common for people that smoke marijuana to have a harder time learning new material and retaining new information as opposed to non-smokers. If you smoke weed you know that this is very true. Remembering things that you just heard is sometimes impossible when you are high or were just high.
There are a million reasons to stop smoking weed and if you want to quit just pick one reason. The health benefits alone are worth the lifestyle change. Whatever your reason maybe for wanting to quit smoking weed just do it. Stop the habit now and you can be drug free for the rest of your life.

The surfers and hippies make it look so easy don’t they? Pot makes you mellow, it makes you calmer, gives your nerves a much needed break. Or does it?
It is a tricky thing, panic and it is stealthy, coming at times when you least expect it. And once you have had the first attack, you become prone to more attacks.
What can pot do for panic attack relief?
Absolutely nothing. What may have calmed your nerves before you had panic is now your enemy. Pot and panic don’t mix. If you want a new slogan for your life, that is it
What can you do if you start having an attack after smoking?
The first thing to do is get yourself some water. Put some hydration into your body.
Then lie down with your feet propped up higher than your heart (kind of like you do when you have an injury).
Breathe! Not big breaths, but shallow breaths into your cupped hands or a paper bag.
Try to calm yourself, either with music or video games (but no funky brownies, unless you want to repeat steps 1-3).
The goal is to stop yourself from passing out. Fainting can be pretty common when you mix pot and panic.
Panic ‘un-fun’ to say the least. But as ‘un-fun’ as it is, pot can make it worse. The same thing that makes you so mellow also makes you more prone to getting really nervous or scared at the smallest thing.
So now you know the facts, when it comes to mixing panic and pot, enter at your own risk.

Smoking pot can increase your risk of getting schizophrenia. The risk becomes higher when the drug is used by people under the age of 21.
While those with a biological predisposition towards schizophrenia (e.g. a family history of the disease) are at the highest risk, heavy cannabis users during the teen years when the brain is developing are particularly vulnerable. Experts said between 8 percent and 13 percent of all schizophrenia cases have been linked to marijuana use during these formative years.
Schizophrenia is a chronic, severe and disabling brain disorder than affects over 50 million people worldwide. Schizophrenics suffer from hallucinations, delusions, disorganized thinking, and unusual mannerisms. They may hear voices that no one else hears or see people or objects that aren’t there. Patients may believe that they are being persecuted, harassed or spied upon. These symptoms usually begin in men in their late teens and early 20s and in women in their mid-20s to early 30s.
Schizophrenia is often described in terms of positive (or productive) and negative (or deficit) symptoms. Positive symptoms include delusions, hallucinations as well as thought disorders typically regarded as manifestations of psychosis. Negative symptoms are so-named because they are considered to be the loss or absence of normal traits or abilities.
Considering the popularity of marijuana both here and abroad, experts said the number of schizophrenics could dramatically increase over the next few years. At present, marijuana is the most widely consumed illicit drug used by about 146 million or 3.7 percent of the world’s population aged 15 to 64 years old, according to the World Drug Report prepared by the United Nations Office on Drug and Crime (UNODC). In the United States alone, about 15 million Americans use marijuana.
The link between schizophrenia and marijuana has been established in over 30 different scientific studies made over the past 20 years. These were mostly done in the United Kingdom, Australia and Sweden. The growing body of evidence is also due to the increased potency of marijuana. The British Lung Association said street marijuana is 15 times more powerful today than the ones sold three decades ago.
“Researchers in New Zealand found that those who used cannabis by the age of 15 were more than three times (300 percent) more likely to develop illnesses such as schizophrenia. Other research has backed this up, showing that cannabis use increases the risk of psychosis by up to 700 percent for heavy users, and that the risk increases in proportion to the amount of cannabis used (smoked or consumed),“ according to Schizophreia.Com, a non-profit web community that provides information, support, and education to people with schizophrenia.
Aside from marijuana use, schizophrenia is caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. The disease tends to run in families and may be triggered by exposure to viruses or malnutrition in the womb, problems during birth, and stressful environments. Faulty brain chemistry caused by imbalances in the brain chemicals dopamine and glutamate is another possible cause.

Imagine living everyday to the fullest without a cloud always around your head. After you quit smoking pot few months you will look back and not recognize the person you used to be.
Marijuana is the most used illicit drug in the United States. I recently learned that in 2005 nearly 300,000 people signed themselves into rehab to quit smoking weed. Let’s face it most of us are either smokers or ex-smokers. Of course there are a few who have never even tried pot, my thoughts, most did but refuse to admit it.
Either way at some point it becomes too much of a burden on your physical, mental and even psychological thought process to continue. Its time to quit!!!
Now for all those who say smoking pot is not addictive beware, yes physically it is not an addictive drug, however anyone who has ever tried to quit before knows there are serious withdrawal symptoms that can occur. Withdrawal symptoms include anxiety, mood changes, feeling irritable, loss of appetite and changes in sleep patterns among others. Most of these symptoms are due to changes in brain activity and nerve cell neurotransmitters. Smoking Vaporizer Resin

So how exactly do you quit and control your emotional relationship to your old friend mary jane?
First you must decide its finally time to quit and get your butt in gear. I smoked for years and there is no doubt in my mind that I missed a lot of opportunities and disregarded many an important occasion, date, etc. just to stay home and get high. You need to decide to quit today. Then you need a support system to help you through the process of actually quitting and dealing with the consequences. For me I just could not deal at first. Then a friend of mine happened to mention he had a friend that had been in the process of developing a dietary supplement to help people quit smoking pot. He said I could try it for free and see if it helped at all. Let me just tell you this guy had it pegged. Not only was I able to quit, I had very little withdrawal symptoms at all. Now I had already tried the e-books and audio programs out there and while they were very informative and helpful, this really worked for me and maybe it can work for you too.
All I can say is its worth a look. If you are trying to quit and struggling this may be just what you have been waiting for. For now I thought I just had to tell somebody how well this has worked for me. Smoking Vaporizer Resin

The question whether to go cold turkey or to gradually wean yourself off marijuana as an often asked one when discovering how to quit smoking pot. Some see it as the only method worth doing and others think that this is too harsh and will add so much more stress to an already problematic addiction to be not worth the struggle. This article will look at the pros and cons of each method.
Quitting Smoking Pot Gradually
Opponents of the cold turkey method primarily believe that ending such an ingrained habit so suddenly can erode willpower very fast and the stresses of not being able to have any of the substance they think they need will lead them to crack and take it up again. Gradual decline seems a lot easier to deal with as weaning your body off marijuana over time can make this seem like less of a chore and a way to function more normally as you quit smoking weed.
However, this method involves a lot more planning than quitting straight up as you need to follow an exact plan on how much you will cut down on over the next weeks. You would need to make sure you never smoked more than a certain amount per day and make sure that amount is steadily reduced over time until you are at a stage you can stop smoking all together. This has its problems in that when you are smoking pot how much you smoke can easily get out of hand leading to a breaking of the contract you made with yourself and once high it becomes harder to judge these things. Many also believe that this method does not truly allow people to quit as they are avoiding the final outcome and also not being entirely honest with themselves about their NEED to quit. Quitting Smoking Pot Cold Turkey
Cold turkey supporters believe that if you have a date to stop smoking and you plan for that date to be done with marijuana you stand the best chance of quitting because you are being honest about wanting to stop and must muster the courage and motivation to actually do it. With only one goal to achieve it is actually easier to manage also.
The downside is of course that an immediate stop to smoking weed may be very difficult and very stressful for some and if you break under the pressure it may be easier to just give up as many feel a sense of failure which is not as great if you are gradually coming off pot. To quit smoking marijuana you need a plan of action, a way forward and a reason and motivation stronger than your cravings to get through it. Many people who try to quit however do so in a haphazard way thinking that it will either be easy and having no plan except to stop or perhaps they know it is going to be hard and their plan of action is hampered by fear and a lack of understanding of the driving forces of their addiction. Steps to quit smoking pot at the very beginning are a vital thing to lay the groundwork for a successful break from smoking marijuana but do need to be modified for circumstance. 1. Remove Temptation to Smoke Marijuana
There is a certain amount of intellectual dishonesty that many addicts entertain when they resolve to quit smoking weed that is a major indicator of not really committing and allowing a relapse and that is often to do with not removing the temptation to smoke completely. 3. Start a Detox
The chemicals in marijuana are not nearly as addictive or as strong as some other drugs out there but the primary ingredient THC does do things to your body and can make quitting marijuana harder as it works its way out of system and can give major mood swings, insomnia, vivid dreams and other mild but difficult withdrawal symptoms. 4. Reveal Your Intentions To Quit Smoking Pot
The social implication of quitting pot has a much larger impact on your success than many people give it credit with many marijuana smokers have a social network of other smokers who may see nothing wrong with their lifestyle. 5. Discover Your Key Motivation
Another tip I cannot stress enough is that motivation and willpower are key to quitting weed and this element must be handled well. In the end your will to quit must be greater than your cravings and urges to get high and a loose idea that you will be better off without it is not good enough. You must develop a single idea, a single vision of what you want your life to be like after quitting marijuana and always have this in the forefront of your mind. Some choose family, some choose success, some choose health but there are also a million other stories out there with their own key motivators.
