HOW TO STOP SMOKING INSTANTLY: My Story 

You might disagree what I’m going to tell you, but the truth of the matter is I did it myself without any use of medical support. 

For more than 25 years I was a change smoker, consuming more than two packs a day. That’s a normal for me. Sometimes I consumed three packs the whole night when I played music during invitations to provide entertainment to fiestas in our place, the Philippines. 

Yes, being a catholic country, the Philippines has lots of fiestas and holidays. During fiestas, every town or baranggay needs the services of musicians to entertain visitors, especially during vesper day dances. 

So, musicians are in demand during these occasions. 

Me, being a combo player always got the best deal to give music to every fiestas in our place. During night time – were most of these occasions are held, is cold and smoking is the only remedy to quench the cold environment. 

That’s where I consumed around three packs the whole night. 

How I  stopped smoking is the one I’m going to share with you, right now. 

Are you really serious to STOP smoking? 

Well, I know you’re excited to know how I stopped smoking instantly and how you can do it too. 

Here they are… 

1. Crush a single stick. One time I was suffering from a smokers

cough for almost one month. Any medication I takes but to no avail. I couldn’t sleep sometimes when the cough attacks. I was really, really mad at my cough and immediately I connected the cigarette to the cough I was suffering. I got one stick, and I immediately crushed it and says, “I hate you, I hate you, I hate you” crushing the single

stick into small pieces and thrown in the trash can. You can crush more than what I did if you think you’re not comfortable with one stick. It depends to your decision. 

2. Do away from cigarette smoke. Sometimes I was enticed to smoke when I smell the cigarette smoke especially in public places. What I did, I leave the place immediately and look for a place where no one smokes. I did this routine for more than six months. After this period, I can already mingle with people who smoke without being enticed with their smoke. I already passed through the critical period of adjustment. 

3. Keep busy. When I feel like to smoke, I see to it that I have to do something to make myself busy. I used to do heavy work like, cutting grasses, lifting heavy loads, jogging in place, or anything that will let me perspire heavily. When I perspire heavily, I am relieve from the craving for cigarette. 

4. Drink plenty of water or fruit juice. After perspiring from my physical activities stated in number 3, I drink plenty of water or fruit juice whatever is available to the maximum. Water is the number one body cleansing. I  felt I was totally relieved after drinking water. When there is a fresh fruit juice I take it to replace water. Most often I drink more water than fruit juice. 

5. Think positive. Thinking positive, what I mean, is I always imagine and focus on the positive side of things. I don’t bother myself looking back at the bad experiences I encountered during my period of addiction with cigarette smoking. I always do things that has no connection whatsoever with cigarette. When suddenly cigarette craving comes to my mind, I immediately change course to erase it. Doing things to while away the time to forget cigarette related attention. 

6. Eat fruits and vegetables. This is my secret to forget cigarette smoking. I always maintain to have fruit or vegetable with my diet. If

there is no fruit available during lean months, I used to eat plenty of vegetables in one setting. Sometimes I’ll combine three or five vegetables in one cooking, any kind of vegetable available around I have to used them. 

7. Self Discipline. I always hold through to my decision to quit smoking. No amount of enticement or seduction could break my personal decision from my friends who are smokers. During social gatherings or simple get together, I could not escape to mingle with smokers. But, because of my strong belief not to smoke again, I strictly adhere to my decision to be non-smoker, and I can withstand the strong pressure. To me, that’s self discipline. 

8. Ask Divine Help. Believe me, whatever sect do you belong, I know you agree that there is an Almighty God that intervenes our lives. For me being a Christian, totally believe that Divine help reinforces my desire to stop smoking. When cravings for cigarette sets in, I closed my eyes and pray to God that I may be strong enough to resist temptation. And it really works. 

If you’re serious to stop smoking, I encourage you to follow what I did. There’s no need of any medical help. Just stick to what you believe can do away with cigarette smoking. 

Give yourself a try what I’ve done. 

If I’ve done it, and so you can do it too. Just be determined and don’t stop until you achieve what you desires! 

Believe Me, if I’ve done it, and so you can. 

And if ever you’ve succeed with your “stop-smoking-plan” please send me a note and ask your permission to include you in my testimonies for smokers who’ve stop smoking without the use of medical help. 

I want more people to be aware about the negative effect of cigarette smoking to our lives. 

Let us advocate “stop smoking” to those people who are desirous to be released from the chain of cigarette addiction.

This is a story of a man who quit smoking and now enjoys the pleasure of life more than before. He left smoking due to her 5 year old adorable daughter, who became a passive victim of her smoking.

As soon as he enters his home he started to fire a cigarette without having the idea that little lungs cannot tolerate the carbon monoxide particles contained in the cigarette. Every time he smoked the little lady started to cough and got ill having problem with breathing.

He and her wife took it as a condition due to change in weather or allergy from dust.

They kept ignoring her condition when one day he was at home enjoying his weekend off from work. Her princess started to cough and then she was breathing hard.

They took her to hospital where the doctor declared it as asthma resulting from the weak nose filters have become so weak that they cannot intake the 4000 chemicals contained in a cigarette.

The doctor revealed this secret by smelling the father’s shirt even from a distance and can tell that he is a smoker.

It took him by a shock that it was due to his severe addiction that her daughter is suffering from these attacks.

The doctor briefed them about what happen when a non smoker especially a child is exposed to a harsh smoke of cigarette. He told them that a patient experiences stuffy nose, sneezing, coughing, and nausea and in the later stages some sort of cancer like lungs or esophagus cancer.

When a person smokes in front of someone who is physically incapable of fighting the harsh chemicals of this smoke he or she develops an irritation in the airways, which gets puffy, started to shrink and get filled with mucus.

The doctor also narrated that a second hand smoker is prone to asthma trigger and what happens during that condition is what is evident in their daughter’s condition like. The doctor said that if you hang out with your family and friends, others are more likely to have asthma symptoms.

And whatever happened to their daughter during the last few weeks it was due to the killing smoke of cigarette. After the time of two hours the physical health of their daughter started to recover and she was much better after when they returned home.

Throughout driving the way home he realized that it was his fault that her daughter is suffering from the problem of breathing. He also noticed that it was due to his change in job that he comes home earlier and smokes in his home which was not used to be the case.

So he committed himself to leave smoking and live a positive life starting with another job for the health and survival of his family. Also his family supported him in leaving this addiction and now after two years he is a changed man much positive about life enjoying his better quality time with his family.

And he narrates leaving smoking actually made him living a true life with his family, that now he is alive.

When the craving is irresistible, even you should smell  the pack and the cigarette, trying not to smoke it.  If not, okay, you already have in the field, smoke it with pleasure (as I know).  Stay tuned and do not smoke any more.  The struggle is constant, for months, but in the end, will have been worth it. You will smoke only in these cases and in this way: when the will is irresistible, smoking enjoying it. Therefore, in this stage, you should smoke two or three months, a few cigarettes a day, which will be those already seen in the beginning. After this period, you’ll be ready to take the final decision to quit smoking.  The desire to smoke, still exists.  However, it is much less intense and more controlled than before this program, no longer suffer from the crisis of abstinence. The symptoms that arise, will be mild and likely to be controlled, until they are gone, definitely. From now on, depend only on their good will, therefore, their habits are renewed and their addiction is much smoother. Each of us has the time, its strength and will. Go ahead, wake up, fight! The temptation will be hanging around you, the ‘bugs’ will be wanting to go back; forbid! despite the difficulty, its worst phase is over. Who writes to you is someone who used this method and managed to beat the addiction, liberating itself.  Others believed that, too, failed. Consider: For many years you smoked and felt happy about it. Now,  to free themselves, you should take some time. After this fight, many years ahead, where you will live free from the prospect of terrible diseases that inexorably reach the active and passive smokers, do not even remember they once had been a smoker. To detoxify, completely, your body will take more than eight years.  The ‘bugs’ will want to come back with subtlety.  Stay tuned! and find easy ways in stop smoking..

The crises of the first, third or fifth year will occur.  These reactions are related to each one.  You must resist these fleeting moments. Ask for help from their relatives to be strict with you, for coming to its attention when it is faltering. When the craving is irresistible, even you should smell  the pack and the cigarette, trying not to smoke it.  If not, okay, you already have in the field, smoke it with pleasure (as I know).  Stay tuned and do not smoke any more.  The struggle is constant, for months, but in the end, will have been worth it. You will smoke only in these cases and in this way: when the will is irresistible, smoking enjoying it. During the day, you feel the need to smoke for the reasons already known.  Remember that your body is demanding nicotine.

These symptoms will pass, its intensity and frequency decrease. The less toxic amount you eat, over time, much less your body will require.  Make the following observation:

When smoking a cigarette at some point, realize that your body will reject it, feel dizzy, sick …

It signals that there is a delivery to your goal.

Fight!

Therefore, in this stage, you should smoke two or three months, a few cigarettes a day, which will be those already seen in the beginning. After this period, you’ll be ready to take the final decision to quit smoking.  The desire to smoke, still exists.  However, it is much less intense and more controlled than before this program, no longer suffer from the crisis of abstinence. The symptoms that arise, will be mild and likely to be controlled, until they are gone, definitely. From now on, depend only on their good will, therefore, their habits are renewed and their addiction is much smoother. Each of us has the time, its strength and will. Go ahead, wake up, fight! The temptation will be hanging around you, the ‘bugs’ will be wanting to go back; forbid! despite the difficulty, its worst phase is over. Who writes to you is someone who used this method and managed to beat the addiction, liberating itself.  Others believed that, too, failed. Consider: For many years you smoked and felt happy about it. Now,  to free themselves, you should take some time. After this fight, many years ahead, where you will live free from the prospect of terrible diseases that inexorably reach the active and passive smokers, do not even remember they once had been a smoker. To detoxify, completely, your body will take more than eight years.  The ‘bugs’ will want to come back with subtlety.  Stay tuned! and find easy ways in stop smoking..

The crises of the first, third or fifth year will occur.  These reactions are related to each one.  You must resist these fleeting moments. Ask for help from their relatives to be strict with you, for coming to its attention when it is faltering. Continue with plenty of water and with the common procedures … You’ll feel the moment when the their release will occur.

Stop Smoking Story

When the craving is irresistible, even you should smell  the pack and the cigarette, trying not to smoke it.  If not, okay, you already have in the field, smoke it with pleasure (as I know).  Stay tuned and do not smoke any more.  The struggle is constant, for months, but in the end, will have been worth it. You will smoke only in these cases and in this way: when the will is irresistible, smoking enjoying it. During the day, you feel the need to smoke for the reasons already known.  Remember that your body is demanding nicotine.

These symptoms will pass, its intensity and frequency decrease. The less toxic amount you eat, over time, much less your body will require.  Make the following observation:

When smoking a cigarette at some point, realize that your body will reject it, feel dizzy, sick …

It signals that there is a delivery to your goal.

Fight!

Therefore, in this stage, you should smoke two or three months, a few cigarettes a day, which will be those already seen in the beginning. After this period, you’ll be ready to take the final decision to quit smoking.  The desire to smoke, still exists.  However, it is much less intense and more controlled than before this program, no longer suffer from the crisis of abstinence. The symptoms that arise, will be mild and likely to be controlled, until they are gone, definitely. From now on, depend only on their good will, therefore, their habits are renewed and their addiction is much smoother. Each of us has the time, its strength and will. Go ahead, wake up, fight! The temptation will be hanging around you, the ‘bugs’ will be wanting to go back; forbid! despite the difficulty, its worst phase is over. Who writes to you is someone who used this method and managed to beat the addiction, liberating itself.  Others believed that, too, failed. Consider: For many years you smoked and felt happy about it. Now,  to free themselves, you should take some time. After this fight, many years ahead, where you will live free from the prospect of terrible diseases that inexorably reach the active and passive smokers, do not even remember they once had been a smoker. To detoxify, completely, your body will take more than eight years.  The ‘bugs’ will want to come back with subtlety.  Stay tuned! and find easy ways in stop smoking..

The crises of the first, third or fifth year will occur.  These reactions are related to each one.  You must resist these fleeting moments. Ask for help from their relatives to be strict with you, for coming to its attention when it is faltering. Continue with plenty of water and with the common procedures … You’ll feel the moment when the their release will occur.

My Quitting Smoking Story & How It Can Work For You

I have been smoking since the age of 15, that was 14 years ago, from around the age of 19 I have been trying to quit the 20 a day habit. I can tell you now that I have tried pretty much every method of a way to quit smoking, the longest I have ever gone without a cigarette is 7 months.  But since starting on the electronic cigarette I don’t have the need to quit, sounds ironic I know but it is doing no harm to me so I can at least enjoy them.  For more information on them visit Smoking Electronic Cigarettes.

Here is a list of what Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) or method I have tried and the approx length of time I quit with them:

1. Gum – Used to take these quite a lot on different occasions and with other NRT such as patches. Quit smoking for around a month on these alone.

2. Lozenges – Did not quit smoking at all on these.

3. Patches – Have spent hundreds of pounds on these and have used well over £1000 of tax payers money getting these from quit smoking clinics. One year I managed to finish the 12 week course (without a single cigarette) and stayed nicotine free for another 4 months. Have to say though, every so often I thought of a cigarette and soon went back, thought I did a good job of quitting smoking though.

4. Inhaler – Just over a month I quit with these, I remember the doctor giving me these along side a course of full strength patches, which did not seem logical to me, my nicotine levels were up to my eye balls but in the end I still reached for that cigarette, and it made me feel very ill. Still I did not quit smoking though.

5. Hypnotherapy – This is one of the best methods I have tried, I booked myself to see someone on New Years Eve, as that was the only time I could, and afterwards I felt no different, all I kept thinking about was if I needed a cigarette? I ended up going out for the evening and I did not feel like a cigarette, even after a couple of drinks, ok maybe a few… I went through the night not wanting a cigarette at all. But 3 months went by and I ended up thinking of smoking again. One drag was all it took. Back on it full time. Have tried hypnotherapy twice since then and had no effect on me at all.

6. Books – I read the Allen Carr’s Easy Way To Quit Smoking, I was quite amazed with this book as I did actually quit smoking after finishing the book, but only for 3 months. I still give the guy (who sadly passed away) credit for writing this really good book. In the end I though I still did not quit smoking.

7. Clinics – This is the clinic version of the Easy Way to Quit Smoking, I paid £120 for their time, managed to quit smoking for a measly 3 days. Went to a couple more free sessions to give it another go, sadly did not work for me.

8. Audio Hypnotherapy – Lost count the amount of times I went to bed listening to these to actually think I will wake up a non smoker.

9. Pills – I recommend not to take these, Champex and Zyban. These have severe side effects which vary from mild headaches to even having fits. Basically all these do is switch your nicotine receptor cells in your brain OFF, so you do not feel like a cigarette, but as soon as you stop taking them your receptor cells are back online. Did not quit smoking on these as I stopped taking them after a week from sleep deprivation and constant cold sweats.

10. Cold turkey – I lasted the same amount of time it took me to get to shops to buy a pack of smokes or to politely ask someone at work.

So there you have it that is approximately 10 years of my life trying to quit smoking, sounds very sad when I actually think about it. I find myself strong willed but somewhere deep inside me I really do actually enjoy smoking, otherwise I would not go back.

This is where the electronic cigarette has actually given me complete freedom, I no longer have the feeling and pressure of trying to quit smoking. A doctor once told me that the nicotine receptor cells in your brain are there forever, 20 years can go by and if I had 1 drag of a cigarette I would be hooked again. After 10 years of constant pressure on myself of quitting I can safely say that all I will be smoking from now on is the electronic cigarette. It gives me the exact sensation of smoking tobacco i.e. blowing smoke (vapour) and when I am out socialising I can still smoke with other smokers. It did feel strange at first and slightly embarrassing but has been a great conversation starter as not many people have even seen or heard of these devices. I will be sticking to these for a very long time.
