New Year’s Resolution and giving up smoking time is here; and a New Year’s Resolution to stop smoking cigarettes is one of the top ten new years resolutions made (and broken) every year. You can keep this New Year’s resolution to quit smoking, though, thanks to a New Year’s revolution that is sweeping the world and offering success to smokers finally giving up smoking cigarettes forever!

Giving up smoking isn’t always easy, and the the statistics of new year’s resolutions actually being kept are quite overwhelming. You don’t have to be a part of the failing group, though! You can start right now to make sure you keep your New Year’s resolution to stop smoking – even if you’ve neglected a highly recommended goal setting process. You already know that cigarettes are going to kill you, but – even though you’re New Year’s resolution is to quit smoking – you’re having cold feet now that the day is approaching.

The honest truth is: If you haven’t invested any time or energy into setting goals and creating a nicotine addiction recovery battle plan, you’ve not done a lot in the way of guaranteeing a successful break from cigarettes. There is still hope, though! You can replace your tobacco addiction with a smokeless tobacco addiction while you build a more solid recovery plan to help you in giving up smoking forever as your New Year’s resolution.

To get you started in the right direction of a new way of thinking, grab a pen and paper right now and do yourself a favor…

Think about your daily habitual smoking behavior and consider how it repeats itself on a consistent basis. Sure there are possibly deeply rooted underlying feelings that control your addiction, but that comes later. For now, just look at your smoking habit as a 24 hour process before you break it down even further hour by hour, so you can begin to create a daily quit smoking plan to keep your new years resolution of giving up smoking.

Make 3 columns: When I smoke, why I smoke, what else I could do. Start from the time you get wake up. Think about the various things you could do in the morning besides reach for your cigarettes. As your day progresses, consider all the times you light up. In your list of why’s, try to get creative. Instead of convincing yourself there’s nothing more going on than you simply want to smoke, analyze each time of the day. Think about your various cigarette smoking triggers like paying bills, watching television, breaking at work, eating a meal, dealing with personality conflict, etc.

Don’t worry about how it sounds or if you can’t get too deep, this is just the beginning. Taking your goals to pen and paper puts them in another light and allows you to examine them differently. Invest valid thought into smoking behavior modification steps you could take to make your recovery from nicotine addiction less stressful.

After you create your rough draft contrary actions worksheet, make a list of the reasons you need to stop smoking and have chosen giving up cigarettes as your New Year’s resolution. On the days that follow, whether you’re still smoking regular cigarettes or you’ve switched to electronic cigarettes, modify your plan as each craving to smoke arises throughout the day, not only questioning your need to smoke a cigarette, but also coming up with positive contrary actions you could take recover fully from tobacco addiction.

If your New Year’s resolution is to stop smoking, there are more tools than ever to help you keep your resolution to quit smoking this New Year! Make this year be the year that your new years resolution to give up smoking is in the percentile of kept New Year’s resolutions.

New Year’s Resolution and giving up smoking time is here; and a New Year’s Resolution to stop smoking cigarettes is one of the top ten new years resolutions made (and broken) every year. You can keep this New Year’s resolution to quit smoking, though, thanks to a New Year’s revolution that is sweeping the world and offering success to smokers finally giving up smoking cigarettes forever!

Giving up smoking isn’t always easy, and the the statistics of new year’s resolutions actually being kept are quite overwhelming. You don’t have to be a part of the failing group, though! You can start right now to make sure you keep your New Year’s resolution to stop smoking – even if you’ve neglected a highly recommended goal setting process. You already know that cigarettes are going to kill you, but – even though you’re New Year’s resolution is to quit smoking – you’re having cold feet now that the day is approaching.

The honest truth is: If you haven’t invested any time or energy into setting goals and creating a nicotine addiction recovery battle plan, you’ve not done a lot in the way of guaranteeing a successful break from cigarettes. There is still hope, though! You can replace your tobacco addiction with a smokeless tobacco addiction while you build a more solid recovery plan to help you in giving up smoking forever as your New Year’s resolution.

To get you started in the right direction of a new way of thinking, grab a pen and paper right now and do yourself a favor…

Think about your daily habitual smoking behavior and consider how it repeats itself on a consistent basis. Sure there are possibly deeply rooted underlying feelings that control your addiction, but that comes later. For now, just look at your smoking habit as a 24 hour process before you break it down even further hour by hour, so you can begin to create a daily quit smoking plan to keep your new years resolution of giving up smoking.

Make 3 columns: When I smoke, why I smoke, what else I could do. Start from the time you get wake up. Think about the various things you could do in the morning besides reach for your cigarettes. As your day progresses, consider all the times you light up. In your list of why’s, try to get creative. Instead of convincing yourself there’s nothing more going on than you simply want to smoke, analyze each time of the day. Think about your various cigarette smoking triggers like paying bills, watching television, breaking at work, eating a meal, dealing with personality conflict, etc.

Don’t worry about how it sounds or if you can’t get too deep, this is just the beginning. Taking your goals to pen and paper puts them in another light and allows you to examine them differently. Invest valid thought into smoking behavior modification steps you could take to make your recovery from nicotine addiction less stressful.

After you create your rough draft contrary actions worksheet, make a list of the reasons you need to stop smoking and have chosen giving up cigarettes as your New Year’s resolution. On the days that follow, whether you’re still smoking regular cigarettes or you’ve switched to electronic cigarettes, modify your plan as each craving to smoke arises throughout the day, not only questioning your need to smoke a cigarette, but also coming up with positive contrary actions you could take recover fully from tobacco addiction.

If your New Year’s resolution is to stop smoking, there are more tools than ever to help you keep your resolution to quit smoking this New Year! Make this year be the year that your new years resolution to give up smoking is in the percentile of kept New Year’s resolutions.

However improbable it may seem, you can stop smoking now! Yes, it’s true that you have a physical nicotine addiction onto which a fair amount of attention must be placed; but the most prominent blockade in the decision to quit smoking cigarettes is: You!

Every time you pick up a cigarette – or any other drug, in which class nicotine is included – you interrupt your current state of mind and feeling to be replaced by the endorphins created by inhalation of tobacco smoke containing nicotine.

That’s an important fact of which you need to be aware; because where do you think those emotions are going if they’re not being felt? They are being shoved deep into your subconscious mind that is already stuffed with ignored feelings that had been temporarily blocked by nicotine. Moreover, the fact that you have replaced your body’s natural ability to create endorphins with a synthetic drug that provides them instead means that your body is less capable of producing this natural ‘happy’ chemical all on its own.

This is the very reason why it’s so difficult to decide to stop smoking now! Your mind is already focused on the next traumatic event with which your current emotional state of being is not equipped to deal. Your body and brain having stopped producing natural mood stabilizing neurological chemicals is the major facet of your physiological addiction that may require stop smoking treatment.

This is the great catch 22 surrounded by the desire and attempt alike to quit smoking. On one hand, you want to tell your self that you want to stop and on the other, your body is screaming at you keep on killing yourself while spending a fortune to do it.

You have to muster all the will power you have and make a solid decision to stop smoking now! Affirming your decision in the beginning will go a long way. Say to yourself OUTLOUD:

I do not need to smoke.

I do not need cigarettes to make me happy.

Smoking is a senseless behavior, and it’s going to kill me.

I want to breathe better and be free of the bondage of addiction.

You may find that your decision to stop smoking requires you to take other measures like joining a group or seeking psychological counseling to help you identify your smoking triggers and the underlying emotion behind your addiction. By facing the deep rooted emotions that you have stuffed since you started smoking, you can begin the process of allowing yourself the right to feel every feeling that comes up and not only those that are comfortable.

As a former smoker, I know what the answer to this question is when you’re caught up in your tobacco addiction: Smoking cigarettes relaxes me.

Let’s take a look at what that really means, though…

When you smoke to stop the flow of emotion that you are experiencing, you are denying yourself the right to feel a natural human emotion! Every time you pick up a cigarette – or any other drug, in which class nicotine is included – you interrupt your current state of mind and feeling to be replaced by the endorphins created by inhalation of tobacco smoke containing nicotine.

That’s an important fact of which you need to be aware; because where do you think those emotions are going if they’re not being felt? They are being shoved deep into your subconscious mind that is already stuffed with ignored feelings that had been temporarily blocked by nicotine. Moreover, the fact that you have replaced your body’s natural ability to create endorphins with a synthetic drug that provides them instead means that your body is less capable of producing this natural ‘happy’ chemical all on its own.

This is the very reason why it’s so difficult to decide to stop smoking now! Your mind is already focused on the next traumatic event with which your current emotional state of being is not equipped to deal. Your body and brain having stopped producing natural mood stabilizing neurological chemicals is the major facet of your physiological addiction that may require stop smoking treatment.

Critical Psyche Change

This is the great catch 22 surrounded by the desire and attempt alike to quit smoking. On one hand, you want to tell your self that you want to stop and on the other, your body is screaming at you keep on killing yourself while spending a fortune to do it.

This is a case where you must rely on the adage: Bring the body and the mind will follow.

You have to muster all the will power you have and make a solid decision to stop smoking now! Affirming your decision in the beginning will go a long way. Say to yourself OUTLOUD:

I can stop smoking.

I am a non-smoker.

I do not need to smoke.

I do not need cigarettes to make me happy.

Smoking is a senseless behavior, and it’s going to kill me.

I want to breathe better and be free of the bondage of addiction.

You may find that your decision to stop smoking requires you to take other measures like joining a group or seeking psychological counseling to help you identify your smoking triggers and the underlying emotion behind your addiction. By facing the deep rooted emotions that you have stuffed since you started smoking, you can begin the process of allowing yourself the right to feel every feeling that comes up and not only those that are comfortable.

It is even more important that you notify non-smokers of your intentions to kick your nicotine habit, because this is most likely the extent of support you will get from some of your smoker friends and family:

“You won’t succeed; I don’t even know why you’re trying,” “Quitter,” or “Yeah right, I give you a week.”

These are highly defeating statements that will convince you that your friends are right if you let them interfere with your plans. This is exactly the type of mentality from which you need to escape to make the commitment to stop smoking.

Promise yourself you would quit when the carton or pack was gone?

While this resolution to stop smoking works for some, it is generally nothing more than a continuation of the disease of tobacco addiction that will result in another purchase of a pack or carton until the resolve has long been forgotten. If you need to commit to a future date, it’s best to set an actual date that you intend on quitting. You could decide once and for all that December 31st will be your last day smoking cigarettes.

To some smokers, though, this is just another way to put off responsibility for making the decision to quit smoking. If you are going to set a date, join a stop smoking program online or in person before the arrival of the date so that you get the necessary support to help you keep your commitment to quit.

For some smokers, the best possible course of action is to make a firm decision to stop smoking and act on it! Break your cigarettes and flush them down the toilet! This is a bold and symbolic move that offers many the strength and courage they need to break free from the addiction of smoking for good.

The disease of nicotine addiction is a progressive illness! What that means is that even though you stop, your addiction is growing and becoming stronger with every passing week, month, and year. The only way to beat your addiction is to completely refrain from smoking.

You aren’t done until the gorilla lets you go; and that could be the point at which you’re being diagnosed with emphysema from smoking cigarettes!

The very first step in the fight against tobacco addiction is not only the hardest, it’s the most vital for you to keep your New Year’s resolution to stop smoking.
